The annual Winter Festival in Jefferson will be in a larger location this year – Clover Hall on the Greene County Fairgrounds. The two-day event, Friday, Dec. 6, and Saturday, Dec. 7, offers seasonal fun for all ages.
The larger space will provide room for more decorated trees and for a new activity, sock skating. Everyone is invited to put on their coziest socks and try out the slick indoor rink.
The Jefferson Matters Winter Festival committee is preparing for more trees decorated by individuals, families, organizations and businesses. Attendees can vote for their favorites, with bragging rights being awarded.
Winter Festival will open Friday at 4 pm. From 4 to 7 children and families can enjoy kids’ crafts, hayrides, sock skating, and visiting with Santa.
Adults-only time will be Friday from 7:30 to 10 pm with appetizers, holiday cocktails, games, and a cozy holiday setting.
Family time returns Saturday from 10 am to 4 pm. The sock skating rink will be open, the craft tables will be restocked, and there will be treats for all. Hayrides will be available from 1 to 4 pm.
Donations will be accepted during the Festival with all proceeds going to Adopt-a-Family.
The Winter Festival relies on volunteers. Those interested in volunteering for a shift can call Jefferson Matters at 515-386-2155 or email info@jeffersonmatters.org
